All refractions in our office are performed using the Nidek RT-3100 computerized refractor.  The benefits of using computerized refraction over standard refraction are many:

  1. Compact Design: The RT-3100 is compact and the ergonomic design covers less of the patient’s face, offering a more comfortable examination.
  2. Wide Visual Field (40o): The wide visual field provides a natural view of the environment enabling more realistic and accurate refractions.
  3. Faster Examinations: By using the responsive operator keypad instead of manually flipping dials, refractions can be performed quickly and efficiently.  Additionally, we are able to compare current prescription or unaided vision to the new prescription instantaneously.
